Mediaset: Calhanoglu lowers requests but Milan stand firm as Juventus and Napoli circle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu is attracting interest from two Serie A rivals as an agreement over his renewal appears to be no closer, a report claims.

Milan have allowed Calhanoglu to run down his contract, which is set to expire in June 2021, meaning they need to quickly reach an agreement over a renewal or accept the fact he may strike a deal with another club and leave on a free transfer.

SportMediaset recently reported (via MilanLive) that Milan and Calhanoglu have not yet found an agreement over a renewal and do not seem willing to satisfy the initial requests of €6million net per season – but that the player’s dream is to become a club icon.

According to the latest from the same source (via MilanNews), Milan are offering an increase in salary of €2.5m to €3.5m net per season, but the player’s entourage continue to demand €5m – lower than the €6m they previously reported. Calhanoglu is tempting to several Italian clubs, such as Napoli and Juventus, the broadcaster adds.

In our exclusive interview with Christian Falk, the Bild journalist revealed that there is a ‘90% chance’ that Calhanoglu joins Premier League giants Manchester Untied on a free transfer.
