Mediaset: Donnarumma gives priority to Milan renewal as temporary solution emerges

By Isak Möller -

Milan are very keen on locking down their star goalkeeper Gigio Donnarumma, whose contract will expire at the end of the season. However, negotiations with his agent Mino Raiola have turned out to be far from easy.

According to Mediaset (via MilanNews), the youngster has given priority to Milan as he wants to play in the Champions League with the club. However, the latter have been unable to satisfy the €10m per year demands, requested by Raiola.

Therefore, a temporary solution could be the way forward as Milan are desperate not to lose Donnarumma completely for free. The goalkeeper could thus sign a one-year renewal worth €7m so the matter is postponed until 2022.

If this is a solution that Milan are actually considering, it would at least give them some more time to negotiate with Raiola over the future terms. With ten games left of the season, time is moving fast.

  1. Not a bad solution but I don’t think Raiola will bite. These things tend to stick as in if Donnaruma is ok at 7m for one more year why not future years…would be Maldini’s argument
