Today’s edition of SportMediaset (via MilanNews) have published a report giving the latest updates on the fitness of Milan’s injured players.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic: The Swede has been out since Napoli-Milan, and at the moment he is being sidelined due to a calf problem sustained in training on the eve of the trip to Sassuolo.
He will certainly not be there against Benevento and there is also little chance of seeing him on the pitch against Juventus. The injury should not be underestimated and therefore recovery times will not be forced.
Simon Kjaer: The Danish defender will be one the first of the injured group to return to the field and could do so already against Benevento, but that is if he were to train with the group in the next few days at Milanello.
Samu Castillejo: The condition of the Spaniard – who got hurt in the closing stages of Milan-Lazio – is still to be evaluated.
Ismael Bennacer: Patience will be needed regarding the Algerian who won’t be fit to face off against Benvento or most likely against Juventus too. It is more likely that he will return to Pioli’s disposal for one of the following games.
Matteo Gabbia: The return to the field for the young defender – who is struggling with a medial collateral ligament problem – of is expected in February.
