Mediaset: Ibrahimovic aims to be back for Lecce clash as key players return

By Isak Möller -

Following the Coppa Italia exit, AC Milan will now have some rest before the Serie A clash against Lecce on June 22. It will be an important game as Stefano Pioli’s men want to get off to a good start in the league.

As highlighted by SportMediaset (via Milanlive.it), the manager knows that the team will be in better shape in nine days, also because two key players will return: Samu Castillejo and Theo Hernandez. The two were suspended for last night’s game.

There is still doubt about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though, as he’s still recovering from his calf injury. Everything is going to plan and the Swede is pushing to be back for the Lecce encounter, but Milan’s medical staff aren’t convinced of this.

The upcoming tests will be crucial and even so, we probably won’t see the 38-year-old from start until the game against Roma on June 28. The Rossoneri won’t take any risks given the importance of the striker.
