Mediaset: Milan hypothesis remains alive for Lukaku as Juventus move fades

By Oliver Fisher -

The idea of Romelu Lukaku returning to Serie A and betraying both Inter and Juventus by joining AC Milan cannot yet be fully excluded, a report claims.

It was first reported by the well-linked journalist Carlo Pellegatti yesterday that the ‘crazy idea’ of Lukaku turning his back on the Nerazzurri and Bianconeri to move to Milan is something that could be achievable given the relations between Gerry Cardinale and Todd Boehly.

According to SportMediaset (via TuttoJuve), Juventus are now further away from signing Lukaku than they were but the striker could explore the possibility of a return to Italy to play with Milan.

Seeing Lukaku wearing the red and black next season would be little more than a suggestion at the moment, given the high costs of the operation.

However, if Milan were to complete some sales and free up some wages, they could give Stefano Pioli a luxury centre-forward to play alongside, allowing Lorenzo Colombo to go out on loan and Noah Okafor to play on the left.

  1. Milan would be a lifeline for Lukaku but on our terms, loan, cheap wages. Would be a massive upgrade to Giroud. Also he has to promise never to kiss our badge – that’s just gross.

  2. Is it April 1 already? Juventus fans stormed the pitch chanting “we don’t want Lukaku” … they got the right idea.

  3. How about that Inter Karma.
They overpay for Thuram to steal him from Milan and then Lukaka fiasco happens, then Atalanta steals Scamacca from under their noses and now West Ham about to steal Lazar Samardzic from them as well after they got a medical done on him.

Nah Milan needs to stay away from Lukaku. Good striker, will definitely be an upgrade over what Milan has, but he is too emotionally unstable and his salary is way too high.

  4. Even if he is to play for free, this guy shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near Cas Milan. The baggage he carries isn’t worth it

  5. 4-3-3……Okafor central, Pulisic left. Period!

    Leao – Giroud – Chukueze
    Pulisic – Okafor – Romero/(Salad if he doesn’t leave)

    4-2-3-1……Pulisic/Tiji in AM

  6. What a mistake this would be. Giroud already suffers as a penalty area type of striker, Lukaku would have even more struggles. Giroud makes up for it with his attitude and work ethic. Lukaku is a prima Donna who wants to be treated like a king.

Even if he were affordable, big NO.

  7. Don’t like Lukaku. Let’s not forget that last year he was dead wood for half the season or more and starting getting in shape after the world cup had finished.

There are plenty of target strikers, even if they are not as good as Lukaku yet, that’s what management said … wake up Moncada, find us the next Elye Wahi.

  8. I don’t like lukaku, but he would be a huge upgrade in attack and I wouldn’t mind him scoring against inter either lol. It won’t happen anyway…

  9. Lukaku regardless of your personal feelings would be an instant starter as a #9 with all due respect to Giroud plus sticking it Inter just makes it even more acceptable

  10. if our good relations with chelsea turn out with a deal for a 1 year loan with option to buy set at maybe 25-30M with lukaku maybe recieving 6M in wages then i think it’s a good deal. He’s 100% an upgrade on Giroud and it would be the ultimate stab in the back + Let’s not forget this guy was the Serie A MVP a couple years back . At his highest form he could be our striker that produces 20 + goals

  11. If Lukaku joins Milan, we are winning the Scudetto! That’s Right Folks! You heard it here first! It will be Ironic and so painful for Inter to process…

  12. This media are very funny .His asking salary more than 8m euro nett . His attitude bad. Better keep colombo than buy him from chelsea

  13. I’d rather take Lacazette, but yes it’s true Lukaku is a beast of a striker. And yes he has a strong record in the Serie A. But again my issue is one of attitude. I suppose if it was some late loan deal with an option to buy, I’d be okay with it.

The question needs to be asked directly to him though. Does he want to save his career? Or fade into obscurity like Balotelli?

  14. Giroud is all but finished unfortunately. We need a powerful target man. Lukaku wants to prove himself. I doubt it will happen but I like the idea

  15. Where did we miss Mateo Retegui. I see Genoa snared him. Would have been a good prospect to grow behind Giroud. Now his stock is going to triple after a season before we start noticing.
