Yacine Adli could be sent out on loan in January, due to the lack of playing time, and AC Milan could use him to get another player. Houssem Aouar could arrive early instead of in the summer, when his contract expires.
Aouar has been linked with Milan in the last few days and it seems the Rossoneri are interested. The Lyon star’s contract will expire in the summer and he’s looking for a new adventure, with Serie A a possible destination.
According to Mediaset, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are indeed very tempted by the idea of signing Aouar on a free transfer. Currently, they are studying if there is any possibility to bring sign him already in January.
A loan swap has thus emerged along with Lyon, as Adli is likely to be sent out on loan to Ligue 1 anyway. Milan could agree to send the youngster to Lyon in exchange for getting Aouar early, potentially with some money involved.
Now that’s a creative solution that might suit both parties. Lyon lose Aouar but at least they get something back for him, rather than lose for free.
Adli gets gametime replacing Aouar as no.8 or no.10 in the Lyon team, in a league he’s used to and played well last season.
We get a player who I fear we may not manage to lock in if it goes to an auction this summer when his contract expires.
