Mediaset: Veretout idea gathering steam for Milan amid Sanches stalemate

By Isak Möller -

Jordan Veretout has re-emerged on the radar of AC Milan as the latter are looking for a midfielder to replace Franck Kessie. By the looks of it, the interest has seemingly gathered steam over the last few days.

Milan have been working on the signing of Renato Sanches since January but as we all know, zero progress has been made in the last few weeks. In fact, the move is no longer certain at all and that’s why the Rossoneri could turn elsewhere.

According to the latest reports from Mediaset (via MilanNews), Milan are considering Veretout as an alternative to Sanches. The idea has gathered steam in the last few days and the player himself wants to join the club.

The 29-year-old has put Milan ahead of the other suitors, including Marseille, and it remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will make a move. Earlier today, FootMercato stated that an offer is being prepared by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

In other words, to be continued.

  1. As long as it’ll be under 10 mil transfer, it’d be a good deal for us. Veretout knows Serie A very well and we need that kind of experience on our mid which mostly consist young players.

  2. Bring him in. If for nothing else for set pieces. At least will have someone that can send a cross fr a corner kick instead of watching Tonali, Bennacer, Calabria, Theo just hand over the ball to the opposing team

  3. I think many people are missing the point.
Veretout is a good midfielder. Technical quality is not the issue, nor his age, nor the price tag.
The problem is that he’s not a tactically disciplined player, which can become a disaster in a double-pivot system like Pioli’s.
