Meite sends clear message ahead of Milan vs. Genoa: “We have to give everything”

Milan will take on Genoa in less than 20 minutes and with three important points at stake, they need to be concentrated from the first minute. The top-four race is still extremely tight and the Rossoneri need to win these games.

Although Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out due to suspension, Stefano Pioli will be able to field a strong team this afternoon as the injury situation is looking a lot better. This also means that he has more options to bring on from the bench.

One of the players that got a lot of playing time earlier this year was Soualiho Meite, who filled in for the absences of Sandro Tonali but mainly Ismael Bennacer in midfield. In an interview with MilanTv (via MilanNews), he spoke about today’s game.

On three points…

“Yes, it’s important to win. We are at home and we haven’t won for a long time. We are concentrated and we want to do a good thing for the standings.”

On Genoa…

“It’s always hard to play against Genoa, we have to give everything to achieve something today.”

As mentioned, it’s absolutely crucial for Milan to claim all three points this afternoon, especially since many of their rivals will take on each other. In other words, there is the opportunity to make a leap point-wise.
