Olivier Giroud got injured in the game between AC Milan and Fiorentina, with initial reports suggesting that he would be out for the rest of 2021. However, it seems he has made great progress in the recovery phase.
In fact, as reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Frenchman could be back earlier than expected. That is very good news for Stefano Pioli as Pietro Pellegri limped off the pitch with an injury yesterday.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently the only striker available and Pioli was forced to play with Rade Krunic as the striker yesterday. The latter did well but it’s clear that Milan need one more striker available.
Per the newspaper, Giroud could be back for the big game between Milan and Napoli on December 19th. If he can’t make it back for that one, then he should be available for the final game of 2021, taking place three days later against Empoli.
