Vitiello: Milan training update on De Ketelaere, Origi and Pobega

By Euan Burns -

Divock Origi continued with a personalised training program at Milanello today whilst Charles De Ketelaere and Tommaso Pobega trained with the group, a report claims.

As has been reported on Twitter by Antonio Vitiello, Origi is still not taking part in full group training with the rest of the squad but he is heading in the right direction.

He joined the club with an injury and he has been working separately for a long time to try and recover.

He is now on the pitch at Milanello but he is doing personalised work and is alternating that with time in the gym. The club and the player do not want to push too hard and risk a fresh injury.

New signing De Ketelaere was straight into training with the team having only been announced yesterday evening.

For Tommaso Pobega, he showed good progress in his injury recovery as he returned to train with the whole group.

  1. Ah yes please put our striking faith in a 40+ Ibra with a handful of games in him, Giroud who is 35 (albeit pretty healthy), and an injured and unknown quantity in Origi….

So dumb we are not reinforcing with Belotti for free…

    1. Belotti has scored 130 goals in 10 years, 13 goals per year on average. Pretty sure we did not miss out on much. Maldini and Massara know more about Italian players than we think we do.

      1. So missing out on a consistent double digit goal scorer year after year, coming to his favorite club, and for free is not missing out on much? Ok.

  2. I don’t see Belotti as a better option cos I’ve seen him play both in club and country. He possess nothing special, I would even prefer Giroud to him and if not for injury self Ibra is far more better of a goal scorer than him. I won’t say we lost out at all. Remember, he’s an Italian player, if he is that good Italian top clubs will be lining up for him and trust me Maldini won’t rest over his deal

    1. First I disagree. He is better at least from what we know and he’s consistent in this league. And even so it’s not about that. It’s about depth and he’s free. If we have an injury or 2 up top like last year we will struggle. If we bring in belotti (for free again I stress) we’ll have 0 issues with striker depth. And neither him or origi are old and could be good for us for years.
