Tuttosport: Pioli has plan in mind of how to use Giroud and Ibrahimovic in next two games

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli already has a plan in mind for how he will use Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud for the upcoming commitments, a report claims.

Today’s edition of the newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanLive) explains that for Saturday’s match against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi it should be up to Olivier Giroud to lead the line as the centre-forward against Vincenzo Italiano’s side.

Then, in the following midweek against Atletico Madrid, Ibrahimovic should get the nod as Pioli continues his policy of rotating the two veteran strikers and managing their work load, bearing in mind Giroud was not called up by France so stayed in Italy over the break while Ibra played twice for Sweden, once off the bench.

The ex-Chelsea striker remained Milanello to improve his condition after Covid-19 and his back problem and – unless the plans change – he will lead the attack against La Viola. As mentioned, the Swede should be deployed as a starter at the Wanda Metropolitano in Wednesday night’s do-or-die game against Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
