GdS: Leao becoming the player everyone at Milan hoped – it is thanks to Pioli’s tactical work

Winger Rafael Leao is repaying the faith of the Milan management with a fantastic start to the season, a report has claimed.

MilanNews reported last month how one of the most requested Rossoneri players during the summer transfer window was Leao, but Milan refused to sell him and never even opened negotiations. The entire management has always been aware of his potential, having signed him for €24m plus Tiago Djalo as a counterpart in summer 2019.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write this morning that Leao is becoming that classy player everyone at Milanello expected. The growth of the young Portuguese forward was expected and it was not just a psychological question as some made it out to be.

Instead, head coach Stefano Pioli worked hard over the summer with the former Sporting CP and Lille star above all from a tactical point of view, finding him a profitable position on the pitch.

  1. We need to hunt Lille’s scouts or partner with them like we do with Chelsea and Eintracht.
They’ve been doing good selection for years.
