Milan legend Costacurta says current defence ‘very young’ so ‘it’s easier to make mistakes’

AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta has said that the current Rossoneri defence is very young and that is why it is easier for them to make mistakes.

Speaking to TMW in relation to the Golden Boy Award 2022 ) via Milan News, Costacurta talked about the position that he played over 450 games in for the Diavolo.

Milan’s full-strength defence right now is arguably Theo Hernandez, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Davide Calabria which contains three players that are 25 years old or younger.

That is unusual which is what Costacurta readily points out but he then explained that they are able to make improvements every single game because they are young and learning.

“They are very young players, playing man-to-man it’s a bit easier to make mistakes. They have to get used to it because it is the improvements that will allow them to become extraordinary.”

When fit and chosen, Simon Kjaer brings a lot of experience to the backline which certainly helps the younger players both on and off the pitch.

A key part of Stefano Pioli’s team right now is the players who are young but are also actually very experienced.
