Milan keeper Maignan says he will ‘maybe’ study Lukaku’s game soon

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has talked about how he likes to study goalkeepers and he may study Inter’s Romelu Lukaku soon.

Speaking during an interview with DAZN (via Milan News) which will be fully released on Wednesday, the French goalkeeper talked about how he likes to prepare for games and the work that he puts in off of the training ground.

He studies the forwards that he is set to come up against to work out what they are most likely to do when they get the ball in an advanced area.

“I like to study the forwards. I have to watch the attackers more than the goalkeeper. When during the match the striker comes in front of me, I have to understand first what he might do: if he shoots, if he makes a pass,” Maignan said.

He was then asked if he has studied Lukaku given the Belgian has returned to Inter this summer.

“Lukaku? I haven’t studied him yet. Will I study him? Maybe,” he joked.

The Milan goalkeeper may not need to study Lukaku straight away because the former Manchester United striker has suffered a thigh injury which could potentially keep him out of the Derby della Madonnina at the weekend. He is certainly out of their Cremonese match.
