CM: Milan could field makeshift defence vs. Inter as Pioli has two big doubts

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a couple of key injury doubts ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Inter and both are in the defensive department, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Stefano Pioli seems to have some doubts about who he will field in front of Mike Maignan, with Simon Kjaer and Alessandro Florenzi definitely out. Matteo Gabbia currently has a great chance of getting a start because Davide Calabria and Alessio Romagnoli worked individually at Milanello yesterday.

Romagnoli has not yet overcome the inflammation of his left adductor region which forced him to miss the games against Bologna and Genoa, while Calabria missed the latter game due to an intestinal problem and the fever that meant he pulled out in the warm-ups.

With Gabbia on the field next to Tomori, Pierre Kalulu would be destined for a start at right-back and the Frenchman is far more likely to start there over Rade Krunic, who played in that role in the final few minutes against Genoa.
