Sky: Milan gearing up for Udinese – the latest on Origi, Giroud, Tonali and Ibrahimovic

Some news has arrived from Milanello regarding the condition of a number of players ahead of Saturday’s game against Udinese to begin the 2022-23 campaign.

According to what was reported by Peppe Di Stefano for Sky (via MilanNews), Divock Origi did almost all of today’s training session with the rest of the squad for the first time since joining. He did the entire routine but did not take part in the match at the end. It is still in doubt if he will be available for the first league match against Udinese, but it is still positive news.

Olivier Giroud did individual work as planned, but the Frenchman’s return to the group is scheduled for either tomorrow or Thursday. He missed the last two friendlies of the preseason but should be available for the game against Udinese.

Sandro Tonali’s scans yesterday ruled out a serious muscle issue so he continued with physiotherapy today and will be evaluated day by day.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to Milanello yesterday and the Swede is still present today in the sports centre to continue the physiotherapy work as part of his recovery from his knee operation. He will remain in Milan for a few days, providing a boost to the team and the coaching staff.
