Sky: Milan gearing up for Udinese – the latest on Origi, Giroud, Tonali and Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

Some news has arrived from Milanello regarding the condition of a number of players ahead of Saturday’s game against Udinese to begin the 2022-23 campaign.

According to what was reported by Peppe Di Stefano for Sky (via MilanNews), Divock Origi did almost all of today’s training session with the rest of the squad for the first time since joining. He did the entire routine but did not take part in the match at the end. It is still in doubt if he will be available for the first league match against Udinese, but it is still positive news.

Olivier Giroud did individual work as planned, but the Frenchman’s return to the group is scheduled for either tomorrow or Thursday. He missed the last two friendlies of the preseason but should be available for the game against Udinese.

Sandro Tonali’s scans yesterday ruled out a serious muscle issue so he continued with physiotherapy today and will be evaluated day by day.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to Milanello yesterday and the Swede is still present today in the sports centre to continue the physiotherapy work as part of his recovery from his knee operation. He will remain in Milan for a few days, providing a boost to the team and the coaching staff.

  1. Why are these reports always diverging? In a moment you hear “Tonali’s injury isn’t very serious an should join the team in a moment”, and the next minute you’ll read he’s on physio… I don’t get.

  2. The Storm is gradually rising on our adversaries…..

The best pat of this season is that our team will very well and get stronger as the season goes….

    – Maignan Remains solid and becomes almost immortal between the sticks…..
    – Kalulu + Tomori becomes more aware of their strength…
    – Kjaer wants to prove a point at the topmost stage….
    – Gabbia is starting to believe in his strengths.
    – Calabria and Florenzi (Bravehearts).
    – Hernandez Universally Unstoppable
    – Ballo Toure Beginning to feel less timid with his plays as seen during the preseason.
    – Tonali will solidify is cult hero status from this season.
    – Bennacer, if he wants to remain in milan will step up close to the Xavi/Modric level from this season.
    – Pobega (Not too sure) but i feel will prove beyond solid level for milan.
    – Krunic brings the Redondo Dynamism to milan with unbelievable skills.
    – Adli messed up by choosing to play for Algeria (Not saying Algeria is bad) but the motivation to be qualified to play for Les blues would have pushed him further in his growth aspiration.
    – Salaema will have a bad season if he remains distracted by his lack of productivity.
    – Diaz will have the better season in Milan jersey.
    – Messias will be our top 5 player for the season… Will earn his call up for Brazil or Italy.
    – Rebic, solid season but best in Champions league.
    – Origi – Very strange puzzle for me (I hope it works)
    – Giroud, Leao & CDK —- Greatness beacons on the universe. world football will identify with Milan again.
    – Ibrahimovic – Man has a covenant with the football spirit to write history this season…. I don’t know what it is but the feeling is very emotional and satisfying….

The rest will find their role within the triangle… Forza Milan, Sempre Rossoneri
