CM: The strategy Milan have in mind for Pobega and Adli ahead of 2022-23

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan continue to be linked with a number of centre-backs, but the management are also aware that they must address the midfield ahead of the 2022-23 season.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan will build the midfield around Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer who should extend their contracts before the new campaign begins, while they are also planning on making a big signing to replace Franck Kessie.

Then there are the two players currently out on loan in Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli. The former will return to the Rossoneri after his latest loan experience in Serie A, with Ivan Juric’s Torino. The Italy U21 international will be assessed ahead of the new campaign and is likely to become part of the rotations for the double pivot, we can infer.

Regarding Adli, the management do not necessarily consider him to be a player for the midfield pairing, having signed him last summer and left him on loan at Bordeaux to develop. The former PSG man is mainly considered an attacking midfielder, so he will take the place of Brahim Diaz.
