Milan star Rebic forced to serve three-game ban; will miss Europa League qualifiers

Milan’s season will start with the Europa League qualifiers. After finishing in 6th place, the Rossoneri will enter in the second round, aiming for a spot in the group stage. However, they will have to do it without one of their stars.

As highlighted by MilanNews.it, Ante Rebic will miss the Rossoneri’s first three games in the competition. In other words, he won’t be available for the preliminary rounds but will be back for the group stage, should Milan reach it.

The reason? The Croatian has to serve a three-game ban he received during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt. He was sent off against Strasbourg for a reckless foul and the ban was extended for his protests against the referee on the pitch.

Just like the final game of the season, Stefano Pioli will most likely start with Rafael Leao on the left flank instead. Then again, without getting too cocky, the opponents in the preliminary rounds are usually not of the highest quality.
