Milan TV: Why Ibrahimovic wasn’t included in Milan’s squad for Vicenza friendly

By Isak Möller -

Several reports suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would play from start in Milan’s friendly against Serie B side Vicenza. However, when the game started, it turned out that the Swede wasn’t even in the squad.

The Rossoneri are currently taking on Vicenza in a friendly game (half-time now) and have managed to score three goals. Lorenzo Colombo, who replaced Ibrahimovic up front, bagged once again after the goal against Monzo.

According to Milan TV, as cited by MilanNews.it, the Swede was never meant to take part in the friendly. He’s following a personalized training program and thus wasn’t included in the squad, but the reason behind it remains unknown.

Most likely, it’s a question of fatigue as Ibrahimovic took part in the friendly against Monza on Saturday evening. It doesn’t look like it’s an injury, in other words, which is important to stress just one week before the start of the season.
