Mino Raiola backs the Milan project: “The Rossoneri are the team to beat”

By Oliver Fisher -

Mino Raiola has claimed that AC Milan are ‘the team to beat’ in Serie A and are not merely top of the table by chance.

A little less than a year ago – after the first 19 games of the 2019-20 season – the Rossoneri were 10th in the table, a whopping 22 points behind the top spot and 10 points behind fourth place.

Fast forward to now, and things could not be more different. Milan are 22 games without defeat in the league, having scored in 30 consecutive Serie A games. Pioli’s machine are a team that wins and convinces the doubters, even when key players are injured.

Raiola – who has often been critical about the lack of ambition shown by previous Milan projects – was interviewed by Tuttosport about a number of different topics including the possible renewals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“The Rossoneri are the team to beat, I say it and I repeat it. I’m not afraid to lose my balance,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Zlatan is a priceless player. Top scorer in Serie A, with two goals more than Ronaldo, despite being still injured. But by now his return is imminent. And in Milan there are also Donnarumma and Romagnoli, eh!”
