AC Milan have started this season in an impressive fashion, especially with all the injuries, but last night the first defeat arrived. Fiorentina put four goals past Ciprian Tatarusanu and the Rossoneri only scored three.
As highlighted by Corriere Dello Sera this morning (via MilanNews), the biggest issue for Milan was the costly mistakes and the squandered chances. They may have scored three goals, but it could have been a lot more.
At 1-0, Ibrahimovic missed a golden opportunity to level the game, which would have changed its course. And there were more good opportunities for Stefano Pioli’s side, especially in the first half, that weren’t put away.
Then, of course, the defensive error really destroyed their chances of getting anything out of this game. When the score was 3-2, Theo Hernandez made a huge mistake at the back and that made it near impossible to grab a point from the game. The first league defeat, therefore, was a fact.
