ML: Milan could consider swap deal as Atletico Madrid show interest in Castillejo

By Isak Möller -

Samu Castillejo, after what was a promising pre-season, has lost his starting spot to the impressive Alexis Saelemaekers. Almost only getting minutes in the Europa League, the No.7 could decide to move on.

However, he has improved slightly in the last few weeks, scoring against Lille and Celtic (albeit tap-ins). It won’t be easy for him to earn a starting spot, considering how Saelemaekers has played and the talks about new winger arriving.

As reported by MilanLive, Milan could decide to part ways with him and Atletico Madrid have shown their interest in recent days. Due to COVID and its implications on the economy, they could even consider a swap deal with the Spanish side.

In Atleti’s squad, there is one player that has been linked with a move back to Serie A for many years now: Stefan Savic. Per the report, he could come back into fashion if the Spanish side really want to sign Castillejo.
