ML: The numbers with and without Bennacer on the pitch as Milan smile

By Isak Möller -

After making an appearance off the bench against Bologna, Ismael Bennacer is ready to link up with Franck Kessie from the first minute. The return of the midfield duo, one of the best in the league, is a big boost for Milan.

The Algerian international will make his first start since the 2-2 draw against Parma in early December. In other words, his recovery process has been long and Milan have certainly felt his absence on the pitch, as highlighted by MilanLive.

Bennacer has played ten league games this season and Milan won seven of them, drawing the other three. In addition to acting as the playmaker in the build-up phase, he also added one assist to his tally in the game against Napoli.

In the Europa League, between the play-offs and group stage, he played eight of the nine games (6W, 1D, 1L). The loss came against Lille and Bennacer entered the game off the bench. He also has an assist in the tournament.

Without the midfielder, Milan registered their only losses of the season (bar EL): against Juventus and Atalanta in the league, as well as Inter in the Coppa Italia. He’s an important player, that’s for sure, and it will be an exciting game tomorrow.
