MN: Calhanoglu, Donnarumma, Ibrahimovic and Kessie – the latest on Milan’s renewal situations

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management are working away on securing a number of renewals to keep the current core firmly together.

Antonio Vitiello shed more light on each renewal situation in his latest for MilanNews, beginning by stating that Gianluigi Donnarumma is close to signing a new deal until 2024 or 2025.

Milan do not want to insert a release clause and the management are working on this, but the player’s will is clear and there is no real risk at the moment that anything breaks down.

Donnarumma ‘will be the symbol of Milan at an international level for the next few years’, and from January onwards Milan will also begin to talk with Raiola about the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s situation is more complex as the player would like to stay but is requesting €6m, therefore Paolo Maldini is trying to make him understand that his requests are out of reach given the current climate of football economically and the fact the balance of the dressing room would be disrupted.

Milan have settled on €3.5m as their final offer for now and are not expected to go any further, so now the ball is in the player’s court.

Meanwhile, Franck Kessie’s contract expires in June 2022 and the first signs have emerged regarding a desire to continue together.
