Official: Camarda and Ibrahimovic start for Milan Primavera vs. Liverpool in UEFA Youth League

The headline today is AC Milan’s first team facing Liverpool, however, the club will also have an eye on the UEFA Youth League which begins today, with the Rossoneri taking on their visitors’ youth team.

Last season, Milan had huge success in the Youth League, and although they did not win it, they reached a final for the first time in any Italian club’s history. Perhaps, this wasn’t the greatest achievement from the campaign, though.

Instead, it could be argued that the bigger achievement was allowing Francesco Camarda, Mattia Liberali, Kevin Zeroli and several others the chance to experience the idea of European success without the pressures of senior European football.

Of course, there are several differences between the Youth League and the Champions League, but experiencing the equivalent and going far will help with the mental side of playing in European competition, whilst also giving players a chance to prove themselves on a ‘European’ stage.

As Milan News write, the Diavolo’s Primavera begin their Youth League journey at 14:30 CEST and the fixture will be shown on Milan TV, and the club’s app.

AC Milan Primavera XI vs. Liverpool (4-3-3): Longoni; Bakoune, Parmiggiani, Paloschi, Magni; Liberali, Stalmach, Comotto; Sia, Camarda, Ibrahimovic.

Liverpool vs. AC Milan Primavera XI (5-4-1): Misciur; Nallo, Esdaille, Pinnington, Lucky Omoruyi, Laffey; Morrison, Kelly, Young, Nyoni; Kone-Doherty.
