MN: Dalot shines in home debut for Milan and impresses Pioli with forward runs

By Isak Möller -

A goal and an assist in his second game from start with the Milan shirt: Diogo Dalot’s home debut wasn’t bad at all, even better than most of us and perhaps also the full-back could have imagined.

Dalot arrived from Man Utd on loan towards the end of the window, but the full-back needed very little time to show his qualities for the Rossoneri. Above all, those in the attacking phase, as highlighted by MilanNews.it this evening.

Yesterday against Sparta Prague, Dalot played on the left in place of Theo Hernandez, who finally had the opportunity to rest a bit. Of course, the opponents weren’t of the highest quality, but the 21-year-old impressed a lot.

It will be necessary to see him against a stronger team as well, but as a home debut, Dalot absolutely can’t complain. Stefano Pioli, who praised the player after the game, is pleased to know he can bench Hernandez every now and then, as will be needed.

In the attacking phase, the Portuguese youngster pushed hard and sometimes he was so high that he almost seemed to play as a winger (Krunic was good at covering to give him space for the bursting runs).

The assist for Rafael Leao’s was certainly wonderful, while the 3-0 goal was the icing on the cake of a home debut that Diogo hardly will forget.
