The possibility of Hakan Calhanoglu leaving AC Milan on a free transfer cannot be excluded as an agreement over a new deal is not close.
According to the latest from MilanNews, Calhanoglu’s agent Gordon Stipic knows that if he were to take his client elsewhere on a free transfer, he will see his bank account swell with commissions.
After the lockdown and with the detonation of the playmaker’s performances, contacts were initiated with Stipic and a pay rise to €3.5-4million per year was offered. However, the request of a €7m annual salary from Stipic essentially blocked everything, especially because the German was offering his client to Manchester United, Inter and Juventus.
The stalemate has meant though that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are not letting go of Dominik Szoboszlai. Why are Milan not willing to raise their renewal offer but are ready to try and sign the the Hungarian? The answer is because Szoboszlai falls within the category of those profiles for which the property is willing to invest cash.
If Calhanoglu falls out of line as a result of his renewal situation, Pioli can send him to the bench as he has a very valid alternative in Brahim Diaz, who wants to do well and also wants to stay at Milan, the report concludes.
