AC Milan are set to undergo changes on the flanks this summer as there are a number of departures anticipated, a report claims.
As MilanNews notes, the right side will need addressing with Emerson Royal of Barcelona and Serge Aurier the right-back targets, and the dream for the wing is Federico Chiesa.
Milan, to date, have five players who can play on the right: Calabria, Conti and Kalulu in defence, Castillejo and Saelemaekers as wide midfielders. Kalulu is likely to start the season from the Primavera, it should be noted.
To sign Aurier, it will be necessary to let at least one of Calabria and Conti go. Calabria would generate a pure capital gain for Milan meaning he is more likely to leave, while for Conti the demand would be around €10m to avoid a capital loss.
It is unlikely that offers of less than €12-13m will be accepted for Calabria, while it is believed that over €10m is the request for Diego Laxalt on the left side.
Saelemaekers has just been redeemed and is unlikely to be sold, while Castillejo has proven to be a reliable and selfless player, even if not particularly productive from point of view of goals and assists.
Signing a player for the right side who scored 10+ per season would clearly improve the attacking department, but seeing Samu leave seems unlikely. However, MilanNews adds that Castillejo in Spain almost always played on the left wing, so he could move to being a back-up for Rebic and Leao, who will both also play a double role as the deputies to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
