MN: ‘Every 3.4 days’ – Furlani calls on patience but mercato concern is warranted

By Ben Dixon -

The mercato opened 26 days ago, and AC Milan have only made one first-team signing. However, there is a feeling of calm around Milanello, but a report has questioned if this feeling is unwarranted.

Whilst deals are in the works, there is a growing sense of unease about the lack of business being conducted by Milan, especially considering how many areas of the squad need to be invested in.

However, this sentiment is not being held by the management, and Giorgio Furlani spoke about the matter yesterday, stating that an ‘important addition’ had been made – a striker – but that the mercato is still open for another month, so there is little need to panic.

On the other hand, Milan News have questioned this statement, asking if the Diavolo actually have enough time to complete their business.

As their report states, at this point of the mercato last summer, most of the notable signings had been made, but this has not been repeated this time around. Instead, there are four areas which must be focused on, in terms of arrivals, and there are six potential exits to organise – one could be completed in the coming days.

Given the mercato closes in 34 days, a question has been posed – do Milan actually have enough time?

There are 10 operations which need to be completed, averaging an action (incoming or outgoing) every 3.4 days, doable, but a difficult task nonetheless.

  1. I have a bad feeling he will wait last day mercato for fofana just to pressing monaco . Not only buying but also slow to sell deadwood

  2. Yes have patience until September the start doing some panic buys like Jovic or Musah.
This management is so lame… if we miss Pavlo, Fofana and Samardici who are they going to buy? Or more important who are they going to blame for another miss season? Without a defensive midfielder a good centre back and reinforcement for attacking midfielder and RB I hate to say this but Fonseca is already destined to fail. I saw we refused to pay 25 mil for Samardzic and they don’t want Pobega and Adli, doesn’t make sense.. they paid 20 mil last summer for Musah and another 15 mil for Loftus who was a bench player at Chelsea but they refuse to pay 25 mil for a good attacking midfielder that we don’t even have one anymore after Brahim Diaz left. I m looking at Juventus and see how they are moving on the market De Grigorio , Douglas Luis, now negotiating for Adeymi from Dortmund and Todibo from Nice and they sold players too meanwhile we got Morata because he had 13 mil released clause

    1. The difference is that they didn’t have that ‘easy money’ from Tonali’s sale this TW. And that says a lot doesn’t it.

      1. Where are the articles saying Milan have the biggest profit from Seria a and we don’t need to sell anyone to buy players? 😂
I believe we have a budget of 40-50 mil plus the sales from players I don’t see how they can sell Pobega and Adli for big money, possible Thiaw to Newcastle for 30 mil but it might be too late to get fofana and Pavlo

  3. The previous season’s signings have significantly bolstered the squad, setting the stage for fans like me to sit back and enjoy the spectacle this season. Happy weekend!

    1. Ya so much that we finished 16 points off first; didn’t make UCL knockout stages despite being in the semi finals the previous year; bounced out of the Coppa Italia and got embarrassed by Inter twice in the derby

Ya – the signings were amazing LOLOLOLOLO
