MN: Hauge needed just 28 minutes to score for Milan – first signs prove strategy right

By Isak Möller -

28 minutes, that is how long it took for Jens Petter Hauge to score his first goal with the Milan shirt. The Norwegian’s goal at Celtic Park, by how he started and finished the move, shows why he was signed him in the first place.

As highlighted by MilanNews.it’s Matteo Calcagni, from June up until now, Hauge has scored 17 goals in 22 appearances between Eliteserien, Europa League and Serie A: a record that is certainly impressive.

Despite strong competition in his department, which had already been reinforced with Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid, Milan decided to sign the 21-year-old. The opportunity was simply too good to pass on.

The winger, despite his very young age and the change of environment, immediately responded: a sign of a personality that goes far beyond the aforementioned numbers. Of course, he will have plenty of time to grow, make mistakes and mature, but the first feelings are absolutely positive.

Hauge cost €4m, Saelemaekers €7m and Diaz came on a free loan. And from them, at this start of the season, 4 goals and 2 assists. An important sign for a team that, as Pioli rightly points out, is still at the beginning of the course.
