Dominik Szoboszlai continues to be linked with a move to AC Milan this summer. The Hungarian midfielder, who currently plays for RB Salzburg, confirmed the interest of the Rossoneri just a few weeks ago.
According to a report from MilanNews.it, it’s difficult to imagine that Ralf Rangnick isn’t behind the rumours, linked with a position as manager and sporting director for the club next season.
The German manager, who relies on young players, would bring this philosophy to Milan and add to his fantastic track record. However, he will not only discover new talents, but also look for young players that already have some experience.
This is the case of Szoboszlai, who despite his young age (19) made his Champions League debut last year. The price tag of the player is believed to be around €20m, a substantial figure but one that is within Milan’s parameters.
RB Salzburg will look to sell him this summer as the contract will expire in 2022. Waiting one more year would thus limit their power in the negotiations. The competition in the race is fierce, but Milan are ready to fight.
The question is, will Rangnick be able to convince the youngster? That is if he arrives, of course. Although Milan won’t be in the Champions League, the project and the ability to offer a starting spot could make the difference.
