MN: Kessie the victim of racial abuse from Roma fans as well as Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

Franck Kessie was the victim of some racial abuse during AC Milan’s 2-1 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico tonight, a report has claimed.

In the first half Zlatan Ibrahimovic was booked by referee Fabio Maresca after he responded to abuse from Roma fans following his goal at the Stadio Olimpico. The fans were chanting “Sei uno zingaro” at Ibrahimovic, which means “You are a gypsy”.

After he scored his free-kick to make it 1-0, the Swede told the fans to sing louder and the referee booked him for provocation, but it appears it wasn’t the only incident where Roma fans disgraced themselves.

According to MilanNews, there were racist jeers against Kessie by some Roma fans, who abused the player after he got booked in the second half for a foul. The card was produced, and then the Ivorian was showered with abuse. We hope to hear of action being taken.

    1. It’s very annoying, and I wonder why those card decisions wrongly issued by referee’s ain’t overturned when discovered to be wrong. With all the technology at thier disposal we still see blind mistakes and it’s becoming annoying, we have had about 6-7 bad decisions alone this season and the season isn’t even midway yet. I just hope there’s things don’t discourage players or prevent them from actually expressing themselves in game play.

Imagine booking a player that was radially abused… What a joke

  1. It sends the wrong message to the crowd who are racist that they can get the opposition player booked every game if they just racially abuse someone who will react to it. Not exactly the “no room for racism” that is trying to be promoted.

  2. This is just the fuel we need to keep going. They abuse our players….we respond by winning…we go on like this.
The best way to pay these kinds of fans back is to BEAT their team and take all 3 pts. ForzaMilan, there is no room for racism at our club.

  3. Pls has there ever been a case of Milan fans racially abusing any opposition player before?…..I can’t remember but if anyone can please remember me.
