MN: Leao and Kjaer train separately as Portuguese winger awaits new scan

By Oliver Fisher -

The recovery path continues for Simon Kjaer and Rafael Leao but the duo once again carried out an individual training session at Milanello, according to a report.

MilanNews state that tomorrow will be an important day for Leao, who suffered a first-degree injury to his right hamstring on November 11th against Lecce. He will undergo a new MRI scan to understand if his physical problem is is it solved or not.

If everything is in order, the Portuguese winger should be available for the next league match against Atalanta (Saturday at 18:00 CET) but it remains to be seen if that would be as a starter or off the bench. Due to this injury, Leao has already had to miss three matches: Fiorentina and Frosinone in the league and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Milan could do with Kjaer back too given that in the last game they had to field Theo Hernandez at centre-back. Fikayo Tomori is the only recognised senior player in the role, with Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu, Marco Pellegrino and Malick Thiaw all out.
