MN: Lille and Spurs duo remain Milan’s primary targets for defence and midfield

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have secured the services of Charles De Ketelaere and will now be able to focus on the other departments. For both the defence and the midfield, the Rossoneri have clear ideas.

De Ketelaere is now just one step away from joining Milan, with the medical scheduled, and this will allow Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to shift the mercato focus. Next on the list is reinforcements for the defence and the midfield.

According to Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, Milan will make a new attempt for Renato Sanches very soon. The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with the club since January but recently, there has been a significant slowdown on that front. The alternative is Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka, but the competition is fierce.

Furthermore, Milan consider Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga their primary target for the defence and talks have already taken place. It could be another Tomori-esque operation for the Rossoneri as Tanganga is English and also young (23), coming through the youth ranks at Spurs.
