MN: Meeting underway between Cardinale and Milan mayor over stadium – the agenda

By Isak Möller -

Gerry Cardinale is currently in a meeting with Milan mayor Beppe Sala to discuss the new stadium project. The AC Milan owner has accelerated the matter in the last few weeks and soon wants to close.

The whole stadium pursuit has been a long journey but after breaking out from the project with Inter, Cardinale is now at work to secure Milan’s own. At the time of writing, in fact, there is a meeting ongoing between him and Milan mayor Sala.

As reported by MilanNews, the meeting began earlier this morning at Palazzo Marino. Milan and Cardinale want to move forward with the La Maura project and will need the backing of Beppe Sala and Lombardy president Attilio Fontana to do so.

Cardinale doesn’t have a meeting scheduled with Inter owner Steven Zhang, indicating once again that the shared project is now dead in the water. The city council also asked Cardinale for clarification on the ownership, something that the American will provide and update Sala on.

    1. What ever it takes for Milan to get the new stadium. It’s not like PSG, ManCity, Barca or Juve are the only clubs that plays fair, right? 😀
