MN: Milan can breathe as molecular test confirms Donnarumma is COVID-negative

By Isak Möller -

Gigio Donnarumma sat next to Leonardo Bonucci just 24 hours before the latter tested positive for COVID, resulting in worry at the Milan HQ. However, the goalkeeper seemingly dodged the bullet, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, the goalkeeper took a molecular test yesterday and the result came back this morning: negative. He will still be monitored as you don’t know with COVID but he might be in the clear after all.

Milan will take on Sampdoria tomorrow morning and they will want to have their star between the sticks. It’s yet another important game as Inter remain within reach, while they need every win they can get to secure Champions League.

On another note, the Rossoneri are working hard to renew the contract of Donnarumma, which will expire at the end of the season. The feeling is that both parties want to continue together, but that doesn’t always result in an agreement.
