GdS: No plans to stop Serie A despite Italy outbreak – COVID guidelines remain clear

By Isak Möller -

After a few staff members of Italy tested positive for COVID-19, there has been some worry among the clubs that sent some of their men to their squad. And it hasn’t made things better that Leonardo Bonucci tested positive.

Gigio Donnarumma, Milan’s star goalkeeper, sat next to the Juventus defender just one day before the latter tested positive. The youngster has tested negative thus far but more thorough tests have been carried out on all the Italian players.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the results of the swabs are expected today and that will provide a better picture of the situation. Having said that, the guidelines are very clear when it comes to Serie A.

Italy aren’t the only ones that have had COVID issues this international break but even if all of the 38 Italy players were to test positive, the league won’t stop. There is still concern for the clubs, but that won’t affect the continuation of the season.
