MN: Milan consider signing a striker in January with Netherlands international a target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could look to try and sign a deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the winter but Stefano Pioli must make do with what he has for now, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Milan have never discarded the idea of signing a new striker to allow Ibrahimovic some time to breathe and manage his workload, and the management would certainly not back down if the conditions were there to strengthen themselves in the attacking department.

Not only that, but there are names on the wish list of directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, above all PSV Eindhoven star Donyell Malen.

The 21-year-old is represented by Mino Raiola who obviously has influences at Milan given he is also the agent of Alessio Romagnoli, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Meanwhile another name on the list is Luka Jovic, but the pursuit of the Serbian is also complicated though he could leave on loan.

Until, then, Pioli must try and do what he can with what is available given there are 10 games until the January window. Ibrahimovic’s first “substitute” is Ante Rebic, as Leao has always stated that he prefers the role of winger to that of centre-forward and Pioli agrees.

As for Lorenzo Colombo, his inclusion should not be completely excluded as he guarantees a certain work rate.
