MN: Milan hoping to recover Tomori for Atleti clash – his presence is crucial

By Isak Möller -

Fikayo Tomori was left out of the AC Milan squad that faced Fiorentina last night after sustaining an injury in training. His absence was reflected in the scoreline and the Rossoneri are hoping that he can be back for Wednesday.

Milan will take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, away from home. It’s a game that the Rossoneri must win to have any chance of advancing to the next stage. Having Tomori available, therefore, would be a huge boost.

As underlined by MilanNews, Tomori’s absence was felt against Fiorentina as he would have been more suitable to deal with Dusan Vlahovic. Alessio Romagnoli and Matteo Gabbia are both good defenders, but perhaps not one-on-one with the Serbian.

Milan have had a lot of bad luck at the start of this season, with many injuries, but they are at least hoping to have Tomori back for Wednesday. His condition will be evaluated on Tuesday and it remains to be seen if the hip problem will have disappeared by then.
