MN: Milan players given two days of rest following crucial win against Benevento

By Isak Möller -

Milan secured all three points at San Siro last night as goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and Theo Hernandez were enough to down Benevento. They are still in the Champions League, in other words, which is extremely tight.

As reported by MilanNews, Stefano Pioli has awarded the players with two days of rest as a result of the win. Training will resume on Tuesday ahead of the deciding clash against Juventus on Sunday evening, scheduled for 20:45 CEST.

The Rossoneri are currently in second place again with 69 points but the likes of Atalanta, Napoli and Juventus could all leapfrog them this afternoon. Therefore, the direct clash with the Bianconeri next week will be very important.

Hopefully, the mini-rest will give the players what they need to prepare for the game in the best way possible, starting Tuesday. A loss would sure be tough to swallow, although getting a good result at Allianz Stadium is never easy.

  1. Well I hope they take the rest unlike earlier in the season when they should have rested but didn’t and then we ended up with a long injury list
