MN: Probable Milan XI to face Lazio – two changes as Bennacer will miss out

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Lazio away from home tomorrow evening and as was revealed by Stefano Pioli earlier today, Ismael Bennacer will miss out on the clash. As a result, there will be some changes to the XI.

Without Bennacer, Franck Kessie will move back to the midfield tandem and start alongside Sandro Tonali. Brahim Diaz will start in the No.10 role and it will be a big chance for him. As per MilanNews, this is one of two changes.

In addition to Diaz, Junior Messias is also expected to get the chance from start as he’s currently ahead of Saelemaekers (60-40). It makes sense given Saelemaekers’ struggles lately, but one wonders if consistency could have helped the Belgian.

With just five games left of the season, Pioli has no time to hand out starting spots to those who don’t deserve to start, hence the decision to start Messias. As for the rest, the XI will be the same as we saw against Inter.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Tonali, Kessie; Messias, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

  1. Man playing with Diaz is like playing with 10men. I would put Rebic in the place. Diaz should be returned asap yo Real. Waste of time with him

  2. If Bennacer was playing I would have him in double pivot with Kessie and Tonali at the 10 , even he is better in possession than Diaz. But agree with you I would have Rebic at 10 ,he has played there before with Eintracht an strong like bull
