Following Algeria’s elimination from the African Cup of Nations, there is optimism around Milanello that Ismael Bennacer could feature for AC Milan in the near future.
It was largely expected that Milan would be without the midfielder for some time. However, after elimination from the tournament in the group stage, there is a chance that he could be back much sooner than imagined.
The 26-year-old missed two of Algeria’s fixtures in the tournament, and whilst there was initially worry, it does not appear to be anything serious.
MilanNews journalist Antonio Vitiello shed some light on the situation on his X account, stating that the midfielder, who spent most of 2023 sidelined, will undergo tests at Milanello when he returns.
There is a good feeling from the club, though, with ‘no alarms’ sounding and optimism high. Whilst reports suggested that he could feature against Bologna this weekend, it looks unlikely – with the game against Frosinone being the targeted date.
