MN: Pioli decisive for Milan in Reijnders negotiations amid many phone calls

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and AZ Alkmaar have reached an agreement for the transfer of Tijjani Reijnders, who is expected to arrive in Italy at the start of next week. The Rossoneri have both the player and Stefano Pioli to thank for it.

The two clubs have reached an agreement at €20m plus bonuses, as per several reports, and Reijnders should arrive in Milano at the start of next week. After the medical tests, he will sign a deal worth €1.6m per year and there is also a sign-on bonus.

According to MilanNews, Stefano Pioli had several phone calls with the midfielder (assuring him of a key part in the project) and also pushed the management to close the deal before the US pre-season tour. In the end, Reijnders also helped pushed the move over the line.

It’s a great signing for Milan as they really need a player like Reijnders for the midfield. But above all, it’s a big signal from the new management, who have struggled to win over all of the fans since the sacking of Paolo Maldini. However, now things are looking up.

  1. Six signings. I think the new management is doing a good job. But there is so much more to do. I think we need at least 3-4 more signings for a competitive team

This is a great signing. Someone a Premier League team would have paid 50 million for I think.

    1. Sportiello and RLC was negotiated by the old management, the new management only finalized it.

Isn’t he the 5th this season?

    2. Imagin if we keep CDK, get Kamada and Dominguez, that is probably the best set of midfielders (attacking and defensive)

RLC, Benecer, Krunic, Rijanders, CDK, Pulisic, Salesmekers, Kamada and Dominguez!!!

  2. Finally some good news lately after horrible start of the mercato. Lets now get Dominguez,Taremi maybe and another RW and we are good to go.

  3. the above comment is so off-point. Milan has not bought in 6 players. The club brought in 3 starters for the team, 2 of them are midfielders and the other one is a midfielder/forward. The club has to get a CM, RW, Striker, and backup fullbacks for both the right and left. So 5 more players.

    1. I don’t care we have just signed the next
Marc Van Bommel, Leao and Pulisic will be at the end of Rijanders passing, we should all realise that this is a watershed moment 👌

  4. Milan still needs a poacher, a scoring machine. And AMF/2nd striker. A strong RW Another solid full back who plays on both flanks. Get rid of Rebic. Massias. Maybe Sala. Keep buying midfield gives an impression that Pioli building will start from midfield. To win italian games you need strong midfield. A finisher and top class full back

  5. At last …. things are moving and from what we read, this is a great singing.

What we now urgently need is a strong central attacker who can bang 25 goals in one season ….

  6. When players are coming in, everyone is excited, when they flop, everyone will be saying its moncada’s player, moncada wasted money, he should be fired 🤣🤣🤣, who can ever please football fans??? New players are always a gamble unless they are already champions, some transfers work out some dont, even for star players we have many cases when it didnt work out, a sporting director should be judged by the progression of the team, not by how individual signings performed, we should never call for moncada’s head if any of the incoming guys fail, but if we fail to progress in serie A or ucl, there might be something to talk about 🤣, again there is the work of the coach which needs to be evaluated

    1. And fans should be judged by being fans.

      CDK over Dybala?
A judgement needed to be made on that individual decision and the performance too.

We ride or die… that’s what fans do, regardless of the circumstances.
We criticise, we profer solutions, but we never wish the club doom, we cheer for no one else.

If fans do not cheer, praise, criticise, suggest, then why in this freaky world would you be called a fan – that’s our job man.

      🔴⚫

  7. Forza Milan. There is a need to build a competitive team after we just made it into the ucl, can’t leave things to chance anymore…the rest of the top 5 are strengthening and competition will be fierce next season.

Some didn’t like to read that, so be careful, else they come for your jugular.
