MN: Pioli thrilled with starting XI freedom as only two players remain injured

By Isak Möller -

As we have mentioned so many times in the last few days, Stefano Pioli will finally be able to choose his starting XI for tomorrow’s clash. After months of injury struggles and absences, almost the entire squad is back.

Simon Kjaer and Brahim Diaz are still on the injury list, as MilanNews highlight, but the likes of Ismael Bennacer and Hakan Calhanoglu are back. Sure, they might not all be in top shape, but the manager still has the freedom of being able to choose.

Matteo Gabbia was back in training this week along with Calhanoglu and Bennacer, with the latter making an appearance vs. Bologna. And then he also has all of Rebic, Mandzukic, Leao, Saelemaekers. In short, for once he’s a bit spoiled.

And when Kjaer (soon) and Diaz (times are still uncertain) return, Milan will have even more solutions in each department. The hope, of course, is that the bad luck that has haunted them will leave Milanello definitively.
