MN: Milan and Pioli hoping for two big returns against Atalanta

By Oliver Fisher -

After the defeat in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan must dive back into Serie A action hoping to collect as many points as possible in the next two matches.

Milan will also try to take advantage of the two upcoming games in the next two rounds that will see Napoli first host Inter and then play Juventus, which would allow Pioli’s men – with two wins – to gain ground on several teams.

What about the injury situation? MilanNews reports that Rafael Leao will certainly not be available to face Frosinone tomorrow, also because in the following hours he will undergo an MRI to understand if the injury has healed.

As Pioli himself confirmed, the staff are hoping that his muscle is better and that he can at least be available again for the tricky match on 9 December in Bergamo against Atalanta.

Also with the aim of returning against Atalanta there is Simon Kjaer, absent first due to a muscle strain and then due to a muscle injury since 31 October. The Dane is struggling to return because this injury has caused irritation which limits his running.

The player who will finally return to the squad against Frosinone is Ismael Bennacer, who has been absent since last May.
