MN: Two fundamental returns now very close for Milan – the plan for each

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping that 2023 brings more luck from an injury point of view with two key players close to returning, according to a report.

Anto Vitiello writes in his column for MilanNews that Davide Calabria put his injury behind him and now the Rossoneri captain is ready to return. He is starting to run on the field, and that is the final phase before returning to training with the rest of the group.

The right-back’s absence has probably been underestimated given the contributions that he makes in both phases, and from January he will be ready to lend a hand to the team and will give Stefano Pioli more guarantees.

Mike Maignan is also doing well, and everything is proceeding according to schedule. The Frenchman is alternating individual work on the field with the goalkeeping coaches along with sessions in the gym.

The target is to have him play in the friendly match against PSV on 30 December to have him available and fully recovered for the game against Salernitana on January 4.
