He is a player who has been chased for ‘several weeks’, but Liverpool’s asking price of €25million is described as a ‘serious obstacle’.
No discounts are likely to be offered, as Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp has an ‘important relationship’ with his former Southampton man.
However, an intermediary acting on behalf of Lovren – Vlado Lemic – did arrive at Casa Milan on Tuesday morning to discuss a potential move.
Milan know that a serious and important offer will be needed to convince the Premier League side to change their mind.
