Contrary to previous reports, it seems Stefano Pioli will make no changes to the starting XI for the game against Atalanta tomorrow. In other words, Rade Krunic will play from the first minute yet again.
Milan are just four points from clinching their first Scudetto since 2011 and tomorrow will be a massive game for them. The tactics of Pioli will be under scrutiny and given that they beat Verona last time out, he will keep the same XI.
Ismael Bennacer has recovered from his injury but he will be on the bench yet again, as per MilanNews, with Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie forming the midfield tandem. This also means that Krunic, who impressed last time out, will start at 10.
It remains to be seen if this is the right XI for the game tomorrow, but it certainly makes sense to continue with the players that did so well against Verona. Hopefully, we will have three more points to celebrate tomorrow.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Krunic, Leao; Giroud.
Defense is solid. Midfield seems tight. It’s the attack that is concerning. The only creative player is Leao. Maybe Giroud but Saelemakers is only there because Messias isn’t that good, and don’t mention Castillejo.
Close game, will be 0-0 in first half, 1-0 is enough to break the ice.
Tonali should be CAM!
cannot disagree with that thought.
Yes, Tonali more offensive minded while Bennacer with Kessie as defensive mids makes sense too as both can win tackles and do a great job defensively in general.
Bennacer have a tendency of starting on a bad note then recover later, this can cost us against a team of Atalanta’s calibre. he is slow to release the ball and likes back passes which are not accurate.
