MN: Probable Milan XI for Bologna clash – a few battles to keep an eye on

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Bologna on Monday evening and as the international break has just ended, some players have more energy in their legs than others. Something that could affect the starting XI.

Stefano Pioli has a full squad to rely on, bar the absence of Simon Kjaer, and his intention is to confirm the XI that has done so well lately. As reported by MilanNews, though, there are a few battles to consider.

In defence, Alessio Romagnoli could give Pierre Kalulu a run for his money as the latter has been out on international duty with France’s U21 side. The captain, meanwhile, has been able to fill up his energy at Milanello. This could have an impact, although Kalulu is still ahead currently.

Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali are expected to keep their spots in midfield but things are more uncertain in the attacking trio. Ante Rebic could battle it out with Rafael Leao for the same reason as Romagnoli. The next days will provide more details on these battles.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Kalulu (Romagnoli), Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, Kessie, Leao (Rebic); Giroud.
